

All Party Indian Parliamentary Forum for Tibet (APIPFT) is a dynamic forum that brings together political leaders from around the world with a shared objective of supporting and advocating for Tibet. Established by Shri M.C. Chagla in the 1970s, the APIPFT serves as a melting pot of political minds, working collaboratively to amplify the voices of Tibetans, preserve their cultural heritage, and foster a strong bond.


SUJEET KUMAR AS CONVENOR
Sujeet Kumar, the Convener of APIPFT and a Member of Parliament, has played a significant role in the Forum’s endeavors. Under his leadership and dedication, APIPFT has gained renewed vitality, providing a platform for parliamentarians to engage with the Tibetan Parliament-in-Exile and champion the cause of Tibet. Sujeet Kumar’s efforts in lobbying resulted in a reception where a delegation from the Tibetan Parliament met with 38 Indian lawmakers, promoting dialogue and raising awareness about Tibet. He also introduced a Private Member’s Bill seeking a Tibet Policy Act, urging the government to appoint a special coordinator within the Ministry of External Affairs to address Tibet-related issues and foster substantive dialogue.


Through persuasive advocacy and eloquent speeches, Sujeet Kumar has effectively emphasized the importance of supporting Tibet and addressing the concerns of the Tibetan people. His proactive involvement and commitment have played a pivotal role in advancing APIPFT’s mission within the Indian parliamentary system, promoting dialogue, and advocating for the rights and freedom of Tibet.
